About

My name is Amy, I am married to a wonderful supportive husband of 28 years. My husband Tim and I are the ones who run the rattery. He doesn't post on MeWe or the Colorado rat Community Forum. He does a huge amount of work for the rattery. And he is a very important part of what we do. He does a huge part of the physical work load of the rattery at home, and he has many years of hard work invested in this rattery. I am the genetics person. I put the pairs together, plan that out, run the website and do the social networking.

In 1998 we began breeding fancy rats but it was just a small thing and we didn't continue since we couldn't find healthy rats at the time. We got our first computer in October of 2004, which is when Camarattery was created and my husband named the rattery. We started collecting our current lines at that time in 04 when we found other like minded breeders on the internet. And that is when we became an official rattery.

Our other hobbies include firearms, camping, fishing, bike riding, 4 wheeling and just trucks in general.

Why Adopt From Us?

Most people come to us because We are one of the oldest breeders in the country. And our lines are some of  the most established lines in the US. So that eliminates the need to worry about such issues like bad temperaments, skittish animals or tumors because they were bred out 30 generations ago. People have the satisfaction of knowing every baby they get from Camarattery has been bred for health, temperament and longevity. We do not have pet shop stock that is hit and miss with those qualities.
